Privacy Policy

Who we are

Newcastle Decking Co is a lead generation website connecting homeowners with Lake Macquarie Carpentry & Building Services (Peter Henderson). This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

What we collect

When you request a quote, we collect your name, email address, phone number, suburb and project details. We also record the page you submitted from, the time of your enquiry and basic browser information. We may collect basic analytics and cookie data, such as pages visited, device type and how you found the site, when analytics tools are enabled. Please do not include sensitive information in your project details.

Why we collect it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, contact you about your project and arrange a quote. Basic technical information helps us keep the website working, understand visits and prevent misuse. If you do not provide the required enquiry details, we may not be able to arrange your quote.

Who receives your information

Your enquiry details are passed to Lake Macquarie Carpentry & Building Services so Peter can contact you and quote for the work. We do not sell your personal information. We use hosting, storage and email service providers to operate the site and deliver enquiries, and may disclose information when required by law. Some providers may process or store information overseas; we take reasonable steps to choose providers with appropriate privacy and security protections.

Storage, security and retention

Enquiries are stored electronically with restricted access. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry, maintain relevant records and meet legal obligations, then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, although this may affect some website functions. Advertising or analytics tools may use cookies if enabled. We do not put your name, email, phone number or project details into analytics conversion events.

Access and correction

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by calling the number below. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain any lawful reason for refusing a request.

Privacy complaints

If you have a privacy concern, call us first so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. The OAIC explains when and how you can make a privacy complaint.
